I am lucky to have the best clients, but there’s something extra special when your friends are in front of your camera. I love these two people very much and am so excited to share these engagement photos and be in their wedding party soon! (It’s the first time I get to be a bridesmaid and I’m so happy it’s with them!) I was honored to photograph their engagement session riding motorcycles and watching the sunset at Arabia Mountain. We met through mutual friends but Courtney and I became a lot closer since we started riding motorcycles together in an all female motorcycle riding group based out of Atlanta called Ladyfingers. It is a very empowering group made up of friends who want to ride bikes and hang out together. Two of my favorite hobbies!
We had to include the motorcycles in the session so we started the engagement session on a quiet road near their house to bring out the motorcycles and get some warm(very hot!) and fresh Georgia air. Courtney and Andrew both have Suzuki’s, one DR650 and a Shadow turned vintage inspired chopper. Andrew loves working on bikes and customized Courtney’s Suzuki, adding a new tank, custom seat pan and custom upholstery by Cheryl Lyons, chopped fender and sissy bar. After they rode around, we all got a little classier and went over to Arabia Mountain. Courtney brings her dog here for weekly hikes so it seemed like the perfect second location. We got there right on time to play in the fields and watch the sunset disappear behind the stone. A ladybug joined us right as we were wrapping up, which has never happened in a photoshoot before! It felt like a very good omen.
It’s incredible to watch a relationship grow and get stronger over the years, which led them to where they are now. All of us share so many memories together so it is especially meaningful to provide them with engagement photos they love and be there for them throughout the wedding planning process. I can’t wait till their fall wedding on private property in Madison!
