Tintype Portraits & Prints

Historical photographs made in modern times

I am operating one of the only open tintype portrait studio’s in Atlanta, GA. I offer tintype portrait sessions by appointment only at my studio at The Goat Farm or on-location by request and gift-card options.

What’s a tintype you ask? A tintype is a photograph created on metal that develops right before your eyes with a historical charm. Wet plate is the second photographic process ever created back in the 1850’s. They are one of a kind and last a lifetime. They can be gifts for yourself or can be a family heirloom that will last through generations. Today, these metal photographs are available at my Atlanta studio by appointment only. I photograph you and your loved ones, may they be a 4-legged friend or your most beloved person(s). I also travel to businesses and events with my mobile tintype portrait studio all over the country.

I offer two options for tintype portrait sessions. The first option is most popular and highly recommended. These sessions are for 1 portrait and are a short and sweet 30 minute session at my private studio in West Midtown Atlanta.  To book this option, you can sign up for my waiting list below and I will email you announcing when tintype dates are available.

The second option starts as an hour long portrait session that offers a unique variety of multiple portraits. This allows for more creative opportunities if you’re looking for a separate location or more than 5 people. Please reach out to me via email to set this up. Tintypes require a 2 day processing time after your session and will be mailed to you within 3 days after your session. Each session includes the physical plates and a digital copy of each portrait.

FAQS

• What is it?

A tintype is how they made photos in the 1850s. Today it is directly created using a physical metal plate. It's a 4" x 5" piece of aluminum that I add light sensitive chemicals to which allows me to create your portrait.

• How much?

At the studio: $100/plate - These sessions take about 30 minutes per plate and they include the plate itself, which is shipped to you after a 2-3 day processing time, and a digital file.

On location: $400/hr - Includes multiple plates in a unique location. Tintypes can be created anywhere that I can drive to!

• Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! You can purchase one by clicking the link below which will take you to my store. Then you have the option to receive a digital gift card or have a physical gift card shipped to you. Please reach out to me via email if you would like a physical gift card.

• What do I wear?

Colors show up differently through this process. Red shows up as black and blue shows up as white. Any words will show up backwards. I ask that you dress in a way that makes you feel good. When you feel good, you look good!

• Do you offer weekday availability?

Yes I do! These appointments are booked via email only as my availability during the week changes often.

• How many people can be in the portrait?

For most tintype appointments I recommend max 2 adults at a time. Children can be added to this as well. Please email me if you would like a portrait with 4 or more people.
