While I was on vacation, I saw that Fabled Gatherings was doing an instagram giveaway for their upcoming Asheville wedding photography workshop. I figured I’d write something and see what happened. The Friday before the workshop, I found out I won the giveaway. I was so overwhelmed and excited. It would be the second leg of the adventurous trip I was already on, and I was ready for the journey. I found a quiet organic farm with animals to stay at, and was ready to learn from new photographers and explore Asheville starting with bridal portraits right in Asheville’s Homewood venue.
Day 1 was an extremely exciting day. It was the day everyone got to know each other personally, how we all shoot, as well as learn from Amanda from The Bridal Theory, and of course, our wonderful hosts, Jameykay and Arlie. It was incredibly insightful. After six years of learning technical editing skills in college, I was very impressed to learn how Jameykay and Arlie edit. I won’t give away any secrets, but it wasn’t what I expected. We got to work with the most amazing floral arrangements, delicious macaroons, jewelry, hair and makeup guru and the most beautiful lace purple wedding gown. It was a great experience as we were all there to learn from each other and work together. I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with such a great group of people. I anxiously await for the day that my paths cross with anyone from the Fabled Gatherings team again.
